First, let me take a moment to than Dan for keeping this
links list. Maintaining even a small, useful, current
links list is a significant undertaking, and Dan's is
definitely the mother of all 3D links list.
As far as the new style, I think categorizing the links
and breaking them down onto separate pages is a great idea.
When the list is as large as Dan's it's almost really
essential to break them up instead of keeping a single
long list.
I think, however, that a radio button list of categories
would be more user-friendly than a pick list. It's a
bit of a jolt to go to a links list and see one single
line.
Once selecting a category, and perhaps a sub-category if
implemented, I think it would be better to go to a more
traditional page of links. A table format with a brief
description of the site could be useful. A pick list of
site titles and a "take me there" button are a novel idea,
but one I found uncomfortable to utilize.
Thanks for providing this great service, Dan! I hope this
feedback is useful.
Regards,
Paul Talbot
