Came out blue? By any chance did you send the Provia F to the same lab
that the Kodachrome was sent to?
I took 32 rolls of Provia 100F in Hawaii a couple weeks ago, and I've
started looking through my third 8-roll batch yesterday (having them done
in batches, I'm chicken). So far the colors have been fine.
It'd be pretty hard to get sharpness like Kodachrome 25 (assuming tripod
for camera and subject that isn't moving) anywhere else. Closest would
probably be Velvia (judging by spec arguments in the Kodachrome
mailing list), but it'd be supersaturated green. :-)
Good luck with A&I, I've still a fridge full of Kodachrome 64 that I
haven't used (along with another box or two of Provia 100F), maybe I
should give them a try as well. Please report if you try them and
it works well!
