I would like to point out that this feature can be retro-fitted to all of the 
Ektagraphic III family, as well as their Carousel cousins (those with four 
digit nomenclature).  The Kodak unit uses the standard lamp(s)...they get 
more light out by using a "cold mirror" instead of an IR absorbing glass 
("heat filter").  Navitar offers two units (claimed to be both brighter and 
"whiter" than either Kodak module) depending on how long you wish to keep
