I'm also in the "accuracy" camp, though I think that's an inaccurate 
term.  As others pointed out, the color gamuts for positive film are very 
different from those of human perception.  However, I've always found 
Kodachrome 64 looks very "natural" to me.  The colors are totally 
believable, and don't distract from the composition, lighting, etc.

To be controversial, I will say that the act of selection (choosing the 
moment, angle, lighting, etc. in which to take a picture) *is* a creative 
act.  It's possible to take beautiful pictures of ugly things because you 
are *creating* the picture.
