One (of several) problems with the slip-in mounts is that they
are not made to the same size specifications as most other
stereo mounts. (Actually, all the stereo mounts are somewhat
different, unfortunately. But most have dimensions that are
closely clustered around a "normal" dimension. The Pegco
slip-ins are quite far off from the rest.) So as a starting
point, you should definitely cut a new yellow spacer based on
mounting in the RBT mounts.

The Harry zur Kleinsmede "3D Mounting Guide" is a small,
straightforward booklet that many have found quite helpful.

Of course to be able to set a good stereo window, you must
first be able to see it and understand it. For that I
recommend RMM's recently introduced window tutorial slide
set. [Surprised? ;-) ]
It would be best to also find another stereo shooter in
your area to give you some one-on-one help. If you cannot
find any other stereo folks in your area, several of us on
this list would be happy to work with you by mail. Just
send a few of your slides to me by postal mail, and I'll
send specific tips back with your slides.

Yes, with an SLR on a slide bar there is no built-in stereo
window, so you have to be sure to mask the slides correctly
in the stereo mount to creat a good stereo window.
