Note that you can use Altavista's babel as a "real-time"
translator. You put the URL into it's URL "entry" form
and not only will it translate the page you gave it, you
can surf that site (within the translated frame) with each
page translated as you go.  When I've done it with RBT's page
it has been almost instantaneous translation on the fly.

Browsers should have universal translators built it, and have
sites have language defined in the headers to make everything automatic.  
Would be very "kewl" and the software technology exists.
