[photo-3d] New VM Folio and New Yearbook

I am pleased to inform you of two new and exciting things planned in the
near future for members of SSA or those that would like to join SSA.
The first is the formation of a new folio circuit - a View Master circuit
that will be administered by SSA member Mitchell Walker. Mitch and I are
excited about adding this new circuit to the family of folios that we
already have and we hope that enough people will sign up to make it a
success. The folio will operate like other folios: A member receives a box
with VM reels in the mail about once a month, replaces his/her old reel
with a new one, makes comments on the envelopes of the other members, and
sends the package down the line...
If you are interested to participate in this new activity, send me your
reel to the address below, inside a double envelope, write some essential
information about the reel and I will take it from there. When we have
about a dozen participants, I will transfer all this to Mitch and he will
start the circuit going.
The other planned event is an expanded second edition of the successful
Yearbook that was sold out. Many individuals requested a second chance to
participate and be included in a new edition. The new edition will feature
individual one-sided pages for each member and will include also the very
interesting historical section written by Bill Patterson for the first
edition.
Since the new edition will require re-formatting the existing pages for
making those one sided, it would be possible for members who participated
in the project in the past, to update or edit their written information.
(Only the text, not the images!) This will give a one-time opportunity to
anyone who did not submit materials for the first edition, to do so. The
new black & white edition will be sold to anyone at a very reasonable
price. (About $20)
To make things much easier for any new participants, images will be
returned no later than two weeks after submission, and other required
information will be kept to a minimum. (No long questionnaires, etc.)
The final decision of whether to actually do the project or not, will
depend on the level of interest we get from new participants. Of course if
you are not a SSA member yet, here is your excellent chance to become one
and have your pictures appear in a highly desired publication! (If you are
not SSA member and want to become one, write to me now
mailto:shab@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx )
At this stage I am interested to get an idea of the number of new
participants for the new edition. If we have at least 30 interested people
who did not participate last year, we will start the new project in 2001.
Please let me know if you are interested in any of the above and write for
additional information: mailto:shab@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
