I've been fixing a Red Button viewer that has some truly awful corrosion.
Drastic measures were needed, and so was born the procedure I call the "Red
Button Root Canal". This involves grinding the contacts right down to bare
copper, then *replating* them, using some stuff called Liquid Tin, that's
used for making circuit boards. I was able to make some very crusty contacts
look brand new. You can see the results at
http://www.interlog.com/~robcruic/RB.htm
Be warned, though, Liquid Tin is pretty nasty stuff.
