[photo-3d] Re: Hard to believe, but true. BRAND NEW WEB SITE

When I spent the last few weeks learning Flash to make
a fun intro to the new version of my web site, I had
no idea that anyone was using a browser that couldn't
read flash files. So, for anyone that can't, I have
added an HTML based set of text links to the main 4
sections of my site. The rest of the site doesn't use
flash anyway. If you go back to the site, and need to
use them, make sure to hit the reload/refresh button
at the top of your browser to reset the main page. I
am finding it almost imposible to make the site work
well for every one. Some have told me the images are
to large for their monitors, and others have told me
that they are to small. One person said that I should
really describe the pictures in text on the page so
that the blind can enjoy them. Now, I am pretty sure
they were jokeing (I really did get an e-mail that
told me to do that), but who knows.
I am working on the next version of the web site
already, and I am planning on having the whole thing
be based in Flash. I am assuming that any company
that will want to hire me will have the most updated
software, so for now enjoy it while you can with the
new html tags on the main page. I don't want to get
into a big web technology discussion, so this is not a
question I really need an answer to: If you download
the latest browser shouldn't flash work automatically?
To answer the "ever clever(digi-macro maker)" Steve
Body's request about equipment used:
All of the monkey photos were taken with a Belplasca,
and most of the other pictures were iether taken with
the Belplasca, or an RBT X-4. Sorry, but I don't
realy have time to go through and figure out which
ones are which. The shot of the woman pulling back
the ears on a cat was shot with a Techo-Nimslo that I
modified further to force it into shooting at F/22
with my strobes.
All of the portrait shots were shot with a mix of a
few different lighting sources. Some Calumet
Travellite 750 (w/s) monolites, and often for an
extra, less powerfull light source I will use one or
two Vivitar 285 flashes. I use many light modifiers,
some I have made, and some that are made by photogenic
(soft box).
ALL OF THE PICTURES WERE SHOT ON PROVIA 100F (for some
of the monkey shots I rated it at 200ASA, and some at
400ASA , except for the Black and white monkey shot
which was shot with Agfa Scala rated at 400ASA.
The reason I haven't put any info about the equipment
on the site is that I hope that my lighting technique,
composition, and ideas behind the images are what make
them work. I don't mind answering these types of
questions here, so feel free to ask more if needed.
I look at my site as a form of self promotion, and
more than ever a way to quickly get potential clients
interested in commissioning me.
At the same time, I hope it to be entertaning (or I
wouldn't have spent so much time making lasers come
out of my eyes) for everyone that visits, free of
charge.
