I don't think the Fuji Frontier machines are " sharper", unless a rival
machine's carrier is way off, which is a rare occurance IMO. The
Frontier has exceptional color accuracy and balance, and the high
contrast glossy paper is excellent!
A print from a slide will look as good as the slide in a
viewer.....there is no noticable color shifting or additional contrast.
The Frontier can print from digital media like compact flash, smartmedia
cards, floppies, and CD's for only 79 cents per print, and under 1 hour!
IMO, Ritz should be very careful to realize that the best lab techs in
the company cannot match this quality on any other machine. And the best
salesmen cannot talk someone blind. Neighboring Ritz stores are getting
killed by these machines and management doesn't have a clue. Store A is
up 15%, store B is down 15%.....the customer base is staying, they are
simply going back to the store that gave them the " awesome" prints.
Downtown Pgh is a heavy commercial market and customers frequent both
stores. Alot of slides, digital files, CD's etc. are being printed for
presentations, court hearings, proposals, you name it. Store B cannot
compete.....the problem is store B is a greater part of my
responsibility, and my job is on the line. :-) It was recommended that I
turn over the entire staff in store B! I told the regional mgr.." when
you start bringing your personal film to store B for processing (
instead of using the Frontier) then I'll fire everyone, OK?" I'm waiting
for my pink-slip.....:-) Mark Dottle
