You can still send email to the "truncated" address - just click on 
it.

The email will be sent to the addressee and they have the option of 
resonding to you directly...

OR, you could just be clever and split your email into:

username: ronaldo
isp: thenethouse.com

and the email could be reassembled by the human mind.  (-:
