[photo-3d] Frontier Pricing

In the Pittsburgh market, Frontier prints are 39 cents for 4X6, 1.49 for
5X7, and $6 for an 8X10 or 8X12. Prints from slides are $1.49 each.
There may be a " perceived" value regarding prints from slides, but
slides are more time consuming to print. Slides are handled one at a
time, often the type of mounts vary, so more time is required to
determine proper orientation etc. I still believe slides should cost
more, but $1.49 is alittle high. The price can be justified because the
quality is "right on".
It will be interesting to see how super volume stores like Walmart will
fare with these machines. The Frontiers are alittle slower than their
former mates, but the maintenance is simpler, so I'd expect the labs to
run on schedule. I should mention that the Frontier is still capable of
less than perfect prints. Poor corrections can be selected from the
operator, but anyone with experience can generate near perfect prints
anytime.
