Now that you mention it, I think I tried to use a Nimslo flash on a
Realist once and discovered the problem you mention. I also tried using
my Olympus T-20 (that I usually use on my Realist) on my Nimslo once and
found that it didn't fire, although I don't think there *should* have
been a problem using other flashes on the Nimslo. The other problem with
the Olympus T-20 would have been that its auto ranges for asa 100 are f4
and f8 rather than 5.6 which the Nimslo needs. Oh, well. I didn't pursue
it as I don't use flash much on the Nimslo anyway, which I mainly use
for closeups. (Since I need more depth of field than f5.6 with flash
would give, I pretty much use it in bright sun only.) -Linda
