Nice suggestion Chuck! I wish my RBT S1 had this option!
Sometimes I clearly see that the focus is better in front
of the subject (where it is wasted) than behind (where it
is really needed).
What I then do is this: I frame the subject and half press
the button (to lock the focus) and then I move one step back.
Oops! I just figured out I am all screwed up! I should
be moving one step forward. Wait.... which way should
I move after I have locked the focus?
Seems like I should be moving closer. This way the camera
will be focused slightly behind the subject to give me
better depth of field.
This also follows the old advice: After you compose your
picture and you are ready to shoot, take one step forward.
This advice aims in creating tighter compositions. At
the same time it will create a better depth of field
for my stereo picture. Two birds with one stone!!!!
