I believe that what you are saying is that since there is a ANSI
standard for 5P, you can cut film at the standard 5P intervals (5 X
4.75MM = 23.75MM) and the chips will fit a mount made to that
standard, therefore a heat seal mount with tabs exists.
Also, that a standard for 7P does not exist and that cutting the film
every 7P (7 X 4.75MM = 33.25MM) will not work for all euro cameras.
I will buy that; inorder to have a standard for 7P a standard must be
developed and followed, and it wasn't, now it is too late. I only
have one "7P" camera and so didn't run into the differences.

I find that the mounting tabs on the 5P heat mounts are a great
help, when I have 3 rolls of 29 each I can mount them in one evening
without staying up all night or spending a weeks pay on mounts. If I
carefully cut the chips squarely at 5P intervals they fit quite well
and I can mount better then Kodak.
I do not shoot my FED much because, lacking heat seal mounts, I use
the RBT mounts. They are great mounts and I like them but they are
expensive.
Since the 7P cameras use the same film as the 5P Realist format
cameras the height of the chips should conform to the ANSI Specs.
You could put in the Vertical centering tabs and leave off the
horzontal centering tabs, I can set the window when I check it before
sealing.
You may want to make a couple of different window widths just as RBT
does for their other 7P width and maybe the 8P format (no standard
either?).
I would like to test some in 23 X 28MM.
Thank you Paul,
