I am thinking that RBT would be upgrading the S1 to make the camera 
even more useful.  They may even like sugestions from stereo users.
Here is one:  
The auto focus should have, in addition to it's present settings, an 
optional setting of measured distance (to nearest object)times 2. 
This would set the lenses for best focus from the nearest object to 
infinity. A times 1.3 focus would be useful for in the house shots 
where the background is much closer.  

I am sure there are other improvements that could be made.
