Perhaps not in that way, but in at least my case I needed to
"publicly" salivate over the RBT cameras for a few years to
let the idea that I really wanted one permeate through, then
little by little go in that direction ("striking" when some stock
from my previous company became vested!).  Had I not done the
"preliminary work", the opportunity might not have been 
sufficient.  Of course, she got a "prize" of about the same
size too, so you have to be prepared for that as well....
