Here's another "Hint From Heloise".

There are little plastic bags clips sold in supermarkets for holding
closed your half-eaten packages of potato chips - they come in various
sizes and usually have a handy hole in the handle part.  I found I can
clip the ends of a number of film strips in one of these, or several. 
Then, by sticking a chopstick under a book on top of a high bookshelf, and
hanging the clips on that protruding chopstick, I can temporarily
"hang-out" curled film in about any room I choose.  If you are patient,
that film will become as flat as you please, courtesy of gravity.  It also
serves as a conspicuous reminder of how many rolls I have yet to mount.
