This is true for the Realist, EMDE and Sigma aluminum mounts,
all discontinued today.  The Albion mounts (the only currently 
available aluminum mounts) have straight corners.

I know people who are attracted to the look of the
round corners in projection.  Not sure if it is matter
of taste or of getting used to a certain style....
