The first foil mounts I used for Nimslow slides were Sigma who I think took
over from Realist. They had rounded corners and my only objection to this
for Nimslo, was that it is usefull sometimes to mount the chip upside down
so that instead of cropping the top black border and red LED spot, the
foreground is cropped instead. The red spot can be blacked out when present
with black felt tip for instance on the slide or in the camera, the black
border is not very noticeable especialy when projected. However with
rounded corner slides you then get a combination of square and rounded
corners which looks odd. I now use RBT mounts with square corners and tried
the Albion foil mounts which had square corners as well, but the problem
with these for Nimslo is that they have a piece of the metal pressed out
like Gepe slide mounts which holds the chip an normaly allows it to be
moved a little verticaly and a lot horizontaly. But with the Nimslo mounts
this was not reduced in size along with the aperture and the chips tend to
slip through it. The manafacture of these ceased but recently some one has
started making them again but they have the same problem I was given some
of these by Colin Clay to try out and give my suggestions for the
manufacturer, which was to make this clip smaller but I dont know if any
thing has or can be done about that. P.J.Homer
