I think you are right styrene is actualy the chemical name of the monomer
(as far as I can remember the benzene ring with an ethylene molecule
atached and is a liquid) that is polymerised to make "polystyrene". Unless
they are using the name styrene as a trade name like "Styrofoam" but it is
confusing to use the actual chemical name as a trade name. P.J.Homer
