Ray Hannison forwards this request:
<<I am trying to locate aerial stereo photography images of land regions
in
RI and New Hampshire that I have located on a Geological Survey Map
but cannot
find anyone who would have these photos available in stereo. any
advice you
can offer about how I may obtain such pictures would be greatly appreciated.>>
There are at least two firms that serve as archives for aerial stereos made by numerous aerial photography services. I recently cross examined an aerial mapping and topography expert in a case I was trying, and he had obtained stereo pairs of a specific site in Northern New Jersey, for each of several specific dates, in 1959, 1961, 1990 and 1996. These archives are truly amazing in their completeness! The pairs most often are in B&W, and each side is a square image, 8 inches by 8 inches. They generally cover an area in excess of 1,000 acres, often as much as 8,000 acres. I have a call in to the expert, who will not be back in his office until next week, but when I get the names of the two archives he used, I'll pass them along. I have no idea how much these archives charge to provide the images.
