Considering that the other two viewers have either single
element lenses or (the Sterling possibly) two airspaced
single lenses, the Kodaslide II has the best optical system.
It would be more fair to compare the Kodaslide II with
other viewers with achromatic lenses like the Realist
red and green button, Revere, Wollensak, TDC Deluxe.

While what you are saying is basically correct, the
reason that 35mm viewers are not readily available
(not in the 50s, today too!) has to do with the
difficulty in designing a good lens with such a short
FL and decent size to cover the format. If you search
the Edmund Scientific catalog you will not find any
achromatic lens with these specifications.
This is not a problem with larger than 35mm film formats.
