[photo-3d] Digital cams/Yellowstone

Just a short note. I went over to Yellowstone this past
weekend (Saturday was glorious before the front came thru - the
temp on my car thermometer was showing 95 degrees (!!) - I got
some shifted foot stereos of Old Faithful with blue sky backgrounds -
I've never been able to to that before (it's always cloudy)).

Anyway, the first time I was there 13 years ago (the summer
before it burned) at Old Faithful (which typically has maybe
500 spectators in good weather) I'd noticed that 8mm movie cameras
were giving way to camcorders.

Yesterday, I noticed that 35mm cameras were giving way to digitals.
They are not overwhelming in numbers (yet) but I'd say maybe 1 person
in 5 had one - the market certainly seems to be supporting the
technology.

Unfortunately, I forgot my Nimslo (darn!) so have no instantaneous
stereo pictures (of course it's so dry that much of the geyser
activity is very muted and all the vegitation except along the
rivers is brown due to the lack of moisture and the season.)
Fall colors are appearing at about 7,000' elevation. No snow yet,
but some of the entrances should snow shut for the season in
approximately a month or so. It was rather crowded (in case
anyone is considering going).

THANKS!
