Actually, capturing speed does not require fast films. I was the
Bonneyville Race Track Photographer for several years, and everything I
used was either Kodacolor or Kodachrome. The secret is in panning the
camera or in the angle chosen for the shot. Objects moving at you can be
stopped at  a 60th or so.

As for pushing, do not do it unless you absolutely need to. Pushing adds
grain which is more visible in stereo than in 2D.
