The "two-button" Realist is the later model with double exposure
prevention feature. In addition to the one button on the right that is
for starting the film advance, there is a small pull out knob on the
left that is pulled out when you want to deliberately make a double
exposure (or you changed your mind about the last shot you were about to
take and so you fired the shutter with the lens cover down, and now you
want to take your next shot.) The shutter will not fire again without
either the film being advanced or this "button" being pulled out.

The "one button" model allows double exposures anytime, intentional or
not, as many users can attest.

Double exposure prevention can be added to a one button Realist. At
least I have had this done by Zak in the past (on my first Realist).
