Well, I'm still learning, of course, but to me this lens lacks the
flexibility for shooting good depth for video screens. Given what appears
to be a fixed and fairly narrow interaxial, this lens would be useful for
limited depth subjects (i.e. people, faces) on TV screens that are very
large - or for small screens you would need to shoot your subject quite
close (at least as close as the minimum focussing distance: 3ft.). If your
subject has a lot of depth, like looking down the length of the bus, then
the narrow i/a spacing would not be a problem.
Given the wide range of subject matter available to 3d TV, and the nearly
infinite geometrical relationships that may be used between capturing
optics and output optics, a pro lens really needs to have adjustable
interaxial spacing. That said, the lens does look like an improvement over
existing systems, particularly the auto-convergence feature. Maybe it will
help 3d to proliferate.
