I am not sure what you are trying to figure out Chuck.
Here we have a $3500 camera and a $150 camera. What
is the question? "Which camera is better?" I don't
think there any doubt that the RBT S1 is a better
camera. The real question is: "Is it $3350 better?"
Which translates to "what is $3350 worth to you?"

We can get reports from people using one of these
cameras. I have posted my impressions in my web page:
http://home.att.net/~drt-3d/toys/RBTS1/
Then it would be up to each one of us to read the
reports and decide if the difference in performance
justifies the difference in price.

Personally I don't have the time, inclination or even
curiosity to try the FED. I am not considering selling
or trading my S1. If I get a second camera it would not
be another rangefinder camera but rather an RBT SLR type.
As a matter of fact, I used to have an RBT X4 which I
sold and now I have in order an RBT X3 which should be
coming any time now. I have opted for the 65mm version,
like DrDave's. For those who are ready to spend a
serious amount of money a more important question is
"which is better, the RBT S1 or the RBT X3?" I will
soon know the answer :)
