Better is in the eye of the user.  Better can mean sharper pictures 
or softer pictures, saturated color, or true color, heavy camera or 
lighter camera, more contrast or more dynamic range, lilliputism, 
giantism, or neither,  more pictures per roll, simple to operate or 
more complex.  There is more to "Better" than just higher list 
price.  If not, one could make their product "better" simply by 
raising the price.

I have read your posting and I conclude that the S1 is "best" for 
close in action shots.

It's stereo base is less then desired for ortho stereo and the 
autofocus is too close for maximum DOF.
