I think the FED uses the verascope format.

I think that is mostly because of higher speed film. In the 50s they
were using ASA 10 film and on sunny days F6.3. With the good films
we enjoy today I would guess that most people are using F16 most of
the time, I know that I do. At F16 most any lense will perform near
the theoretic diffraction limit.

I have heard that the Realist Custom has the sharpest lenses ever put
on a stereo camera. ( I have also heard that for the Belplasca) So
you are saying that there really isn't much difference between a
Realist Custom and the F2.8 Realist with David Whites?
Second, the 2.8 is a 4-element lens and
