If I remember correctly, Ray had mentioned the 
existence of these pin bars some time back in photo-3d.

Related to this, I received a letter from Colin Clay,
a stereo authority in UK, associated with the 
Stereoscopic Society (not SSA), in which he gives
a few tips for this RBT to Spicer transfer method.
In one tip he says that he modifies the common
RBT pin bars to achieve differences in height from
0 to 0.4mm in 0.05mm increments!  I will have to
read his hand written notes carefully to see how
he does that.
