And please take on board that the FED projector was BANNED in the UK on
electrical safety grounds. And it wasn't worth the cost of bringing it up to
spec
for anyone to continue importing it :-(
The BEST way to adapt this projector is to completely re-think the internal
electrics
and install western standard components. The optics are OK - though the
polarisers
are oriented in a non standard way, so you can't use standard polarising
glasses...
I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it uses mains voltage
bulbs. Don't
think there is a fan (it's based on the Belplascus which certainly didn't) so
watch out
for fried slides.
So. I would replace the existing bulbs _and their holders_ with ones that are
suitable for
use in North America. And I would use heavier cable throughout - the
electrical current
to the bulbs will be doubled, and it's current that heats the cable, and the
voltage drops
as it does so because of the resistance in the cable. So, you get a fire risk
and dim
projection for the sake of a little cable...
And finally MAKE SURE YOU EARTH IT!!!
