[photo-3d] Re converting a Fed projector

I replied to this posting a couple of day a go but for some reason it did
not appear or bounce back to me. A few years back there was a partnership
called Kagan and Hewes (as far as I can remember) who were importing Feds
into the U.S.A and converting them to 110 volts, they advertised in stereo
world and I think at least one of them was a member of this group but they
seem to have disapeared. At the time I had some direct email correspondence
with them and established that they used an auto transformer fitted inside
the the Fed but with one half shell protruding from the back,no clear from
the advert in the photograph and the dissolve circuitry was removed which I
suspected from the photograph because the two switches on the top were
missing. The dissolve circuits were intended for doing mono dissolves and
are not needed for stereo, at the time they were willing to supply me with
the transformers for my own projectors and advice on how to fit them but I
did not go ahead as they did not meet my requirements. Bob Aldridge has
pointed out that the Fed is now banned in Britain on safety grounds, the
first problem is that they do not come earthed although I believe what led
to the ban was a general EEC (European Economic Comunity) directive from
Brussels on electromagnetic field outputs. P.J.Homer
