Re the comment in the last digest pot shotting 2D to 3D...

That this can be done, and done incredibly well, is not a matter of
conjecture. The Japanese art book (with the great paintings of the world
converted to 3D), and the Star Wars 3Di trading cards are proof. With
computer processors that will be running at 1.5G next year, the ability to
take a video or film, which after all is just a sequence of still
pictures, and convert it to natural appearing stereoscopic 3d via AI
interpretations and automatic vector mapping/ray tracing programs doesn't
seem too far away at all.

BTW those Star Wars cards from the first series are absolutely fantastic.
There's no doubt in my mind that someday we'll have to buy all our SW
videos again in 3D.
