Nothing wrong with glasses, but there is with LCD. Cost is very high,
theft issues, maintenance and replacement costs. Imagine if you owned a
theater and had to purchase several hundred pairs of these type of
glasses? Would that be something you would do? I am not sure I would -
costs are too high. Money in the theater business is not made on ticket
sales, it is made on the sale of concessions. Buying additional viewing
glasses would certainly cut into whatever profits there are.

As mentioned before, the technology exists for stereo movies of the
highest caliber and quality. A well done polarized system is certainly
within the abilities of todays film makers. Projectors are easily
retrofitted. The only concern might be replacement of a projection
screen. Glasses can be very cheap to use.
