George asked the above questions. In response, my family in Australia and I
searched for 10 or 15 years to find any record of any stereo card collector
who had a viewcard by Walter Burke. Two trips to New Zealand and several to
Australia were involved. Outside the family, only one collector, Ron Blum
of Adelaide, responded. (1990; he had one card). Later we found Bill Main
of New Zealand had three. These three are the missing three from the set
which we acquired from a departmental library at Sydney University, which
had no use for them (!!!). The location of this set was provided by a
Stereo World subscriber in Sydney, Nigel Lendon, who also responded to our
advert there. He seems to have disappeared, as we haven't been able to
track him down him to thank him for the tip. The set was self-published by
grandad, not by any of the known makers. If this set appeared on e-bay, I
would be very surprised. If anyone else has a recollection of it, I would
be pleased to hear about it.
But I still need to have my questions about copying answered by someone
knowledgeable. George doesn't complain that this is an illegal topic, so I
presume it is OK to pursue it! Thanks, Quentin.
