Thanks for the info.  Interesting that you discovered relays have become
obsolete!  I am surprised also - surely there still exist applications for
relays!  Maybe only for industrial applications.

On friday, at the exhibition, I talked to a guy running the observatory
part of the show, and discovered that they had a tape machine controller
for the single slide projector they have - and that it can control two
carousels.  So I will make a tape with the appropriate tones needed (now I
need something to put 45 minutes worth of tones, spaced seven seconds
apart, on the tape!), plus a musical soundtrack.  Then the tape
player/controller should be able to advance both projectors in synchrony.
