I can only answer that I don't continue to sell them because I cannot make a
decent set of 10 for $6.00. I don't get 18 or 19 gallery-quality pairs on a
roll. I feel lucky to get 2 or 3 that *might* sell. If I don't happen to
catch some spectacular weather, that number goes down. I've talked to a lot
of professionals about this because I've always sorta wanted to work the
art-fair circuit. Most of these guys say they're pretty happy if they come
back from a two week trip with half a dozen images they can sell. Over the
years, that number drops to 2 or 3. Often it is only one.

So the reality looks more like this: 3 or 4 trips with lots of nasty and
spectacular weather to get 10 images that are sure-fire sellers. I'll shoot
25 rolls per trip and spend about $10 a roll for film and processing. So my
10 slide set now has $750 in film and processing in it *before* I start
mounting, duplicating, packaging, and all the other stuff that goes with
making and distributing slides. So, even if it cost nothing at all to make
manufacture the copies, I'd still have to charge $30 per set for 25 sets of
10 just to break even on the film and processing for the original shots.
Don't get me started on duplication costs....

I hope you'll give this a try and report on your success to the group. If
there are enough people who'd be willing to buy, I know of several members
on this list who ought to be able to finance some pretty nice vacations.
