Check out the following web site,
http://www.zdnet.co.uk/pcmag/trends/1999/07/13.html
They have the spectral analysis of a LCD and CRT
display (and also some other typical light sources).
The CRT curve closely matches Andrew's fine ascii
attempt. :-)

Regarding transmission characteristics of anaglyph
glasses, check out,
http://www.users.skynet.be/jm-derochette/Pictures_3d/anaglyphs.htm
It has the filter curves for quite a few colored
filters and interesting comments.

As to the ghosting issue, the single most effective
solution is simply overlapping the left and right
image better, then addressing any other remaining
ghosting issue.

Glasses are important and they are certainly not
all created equal. Some are fine tuned for CRT's
and some for printing. Not all glasses made for
printing will work well on all printed matter
since the inks are optimized (hopefully!) for a
particular pair of glasses (maybe Ray Zone can
shed some light on this partcularly colorful
(not comic) issue!). The SI glasses are very
good. One of the worst glasses unfortunetly
(billed as being one of the best), are the
Proview anaglyph glasses.

Gabriel, still looking for a good pair of hard
lens anaglyph glasses.
