I think the point was how best to dispose of the items from the SR
estate. A thread started about publishing, so in some ways we are at
least looking at publishing options. Granted, NSA has a captive audience,
but I say again, they are not the only possible publishers for the
material. I also do not agree that as you put it "Only the NSA has the
captive audience of the stereo-interested folks whose support would be
necessary for it to become a reality". NSA is a very small part of the
picture. Last post I gave other options so I will not repeat them here.
As for Stereo Photographers being the only folks who would be interested,
as you post suggests, I think you should understand that there are more
people out there who do not take Stereo pictures that would be interested
in seeing the materials. Stereo is a tiny part of the photographic whole.
As for the NSA, how many do you honestly believe would purchase the
material? Certainly not every member would. Even with the NSA Membership,
you might be lucky to get 40% interested.
So I say again, if the material is to exist in the public's hands, you
have to look beyond the NSA. It would be a mistake to think others who
have no interest whatsoever in Stereo Photography would not be
interested.
