I use PScan32 with my Photosmart scanner. It allows for scanning slide
strips of from 1 to 6 regular 35mm frames. It also allows 17, 24, 30, 36,
and 66 x 24mm image apertures. There is also a "Slice/No Slice" feature that
allows you to cut the images yourself. PScan32 scans from
sprocket-to-sprocket so you can get slightly taller images if you use a
Realist (which exposes into the sprocket area). Other than adjustable gamma
settings, PScan32 disables all HPs automagical color correction so that you
get a clean, raw scan from each image. This is helpful for stereo (for
obvious reasons).
The software is free, is supported by its own news group (not very active
now) and runs on any Windows PC platform (including Windows 2000). See:
