I was simply reading it off the DOF scales of the respective cameras.  And
you hit the nail on the head, I was setting the outer range of DOF at
infinity and reading the camera's inner ranges for comparison purposes.

I had considered this, but was too lazy to try it out when I could just ask
the "old hands."  :)  Might still run a trial, though, next summer when
there's plenty of free time for me.  After all, my tolerance for fuzziness
might subjectively be more or less than that of the camera manufacturers.
