Living in the New York City area I have access to two or three camera shows a 
month, numerous flea markets every weekend, and B & H camera.  I have found 
beamsplitters at all those places for the amount I quoted or less.  I realize 
though for people not having such access, it may be a little more difficult.  
I didn't know they were going for $200 - $250.  I will pick them up now when 
I see them and post on sell 3D.  If I get them at a bargain I will post them 
at a bargain.
