Chet,

There is a way to adjust the lenses,  but it requires taken the camera apart, 
something I doubt you're up to given your lack of experience.  Your best bet 
may be to find a good repair shop and let them try it.  I've used two 
different repair services specializing in stereo cameras and I've been 
disappointed with both, so I suggest you ask around first.
