If you can't afford the $569, and you have a TNT based video board, you
can always just buy the glasses. I bought my wireless glasses used for
$50, plugged them into an old TNT PCI video card and moved on. I have
heard a rumor that they are available in Germany for less than 20usd.
Depending on what you are going to do with the glasses, you may not even
need a 100hz monitor. I was using them on a VGA (640*480) fixed
frequency PC monitor (60hz). While I quickly quit trying to play any 3d
games with them, I did find it an acceptible platform on which to tweak
my pairs. While the result is *very* flickery (30hz), it was a nicer
preview than the red/blue anaglyph preview that I was using. The colors
were correct, and the image brighter.
My favorite HP VGA monitor has since died and I'm back to my red/blue
glasses on my TFT while I decide if I'm going to invest in another CRT.
Sigh.
Oh the refresh front, I have used them on a loaner monitor capable to
going out to 80 or 90hz. The flicker was so reduced that I tried a
couple of 3d games again. I'm sure the experience would be quite
breathtaking at 120 or 140hz.
A very good source for Revelator information is:
