RE: [photo-3d] Re: New 3D book -Paris in 3D

The book Paris in 3D reminded me of another book that was issued bearing a
similar name, "Paris en Relief," ISBN 2-910745-00-7, by Les Devenirs Visuels
Paris in 1994, however that book with a built-in viewer has neither a
lenticular, nor a stereo pair photo on its cover. The cover is 2D. Except
for the title similarity and the subject matter, there is no confusing the
earlier book with the later book.

There may have been a change in cover between one printing of the book and
another. We will have to wait to see. The copy that I ordered online has
not yet arrived. I can not actually compare it with the one that Sheldon
bought, but I'll bet that he will not trade with me if mine does not have
the lenticular print on the cover! ;-) I would be hard-pressed to give up a
lenticular-cover book myself.

To help avoid confusion, the "voluntary" rules for assigning ISBN numbering
to publications call for different numbers to be assigned for each version
of a book that is substantially the same as an earlier printing. The same
number, therefore, should indicate the same book, unless someone did not
follow the guidelines.

Hi. This sounds like a great publication! But I want to verify that we
are talking about the same book as I am seeing on the chapters.ca
website (easiest to access via the link below, as the direct link to the
item would have been three lines long). The photo appears to show a
side-by-side rather than a lenticular print on the cover. (The other
online bookstores don't show a photo of the book). Perhaps there was
more than one version of the cover printed? -Linda
