[photo-3d] Re: Lenticulars etc

It turns out that I included an experimental lenticular mode in version 1.2 of the PokeScope Image Manager
software, but it doesn't produce the extra wide images as it should. What I did is modify the algorithm used by
the interlaced mode so that the slices are vertical instead of horizontal. The lenticular mode is hidden under
the Stereo3D menu instead of appearing of the toolbar like the other stereo modes.
So today I realized that I could resize the widths of the images in the program by a factor of two before
combining them into a lenticular and generate the correct result. I can combine 4 images into a lenticular format
by first combining the first and third images and the second and fourth images. After saving these joined files,
I can load them, double their widths and form a 4-image lenticular from the two 2-image lenticulars. This process
is a little tricky and could be simplified if there is enough interest.
Presently, my software still has a few sharp edges which need to be smoothed out. To make things worse, so far I
haven't been including an instruction manual for how to use its many features. The most common type of comment I
get is to request some feature which already exists. To remedy this problem, I am working on a basic set of
instructions to include with the software. When I complete a reasonable draft (which should be soon), I will send
it out to everyone who has purchased the software so far.
I am also promising a free upgrade to anyone who purchases now. The upgrade will include many of the features and
improvements which the early user's have suggested. The upgrade will also have several fewer bugs.
So my amended offer is $49.95 for the PokeScope Image Manager which includes a PokeScope viewer. You can buy
yours at my website www.pokescope.com There is still no guarantee on the usefulness of the lenticular features.
In addition, there is no extended printing functionality to deal with the requirements of lenticular printing so
you would probably want to use another program for printing. If someone determines that the lenticular mode is
useful, I may decide to improve the printing functions in the future.
If anyone is successful in producing a reasonable lenticular using a consumer level printer, I would appreciate
hearing about it. Thanks!
