one of the first artists using this was the famous french artist 
Duchamp, Marcel (1887-1968)      go to:

and click the barbie at the right. 
you will have the whole collection, running
duchamp made them for a recordplayer (45r/min.?)and a welcome 
sentence that wakes us up: "see depth with only one eye"
