[photo-3d] RE: nimslo flash
attention ERS and LINDA NYGREN
David BURDER, in the n° 87 (Jan 1985), of the Stereoscopic Sty bulletin, explained the various modifications he had brought on the NIMSLO camera; one of them concerned the D.O.F. when using the flash. Here under is an extract of his paper:
" The most valuable modification was the fitting of a manual override button which stops the lenses down to f:11 for increased depth of focus when using flash.Otherwise the flash will operate with the aperture automatically set at f:5,6.
At the smallest apertures, there is some vignetting of the image, but not enough to affect those working to 5 or 7 sprocket format."
This modification consists in fitting a tiny switch on the cover, whose contacts introduce a small resistor (value 47000 ohms),in parallel to the photocell. Operating this switch will mislead the exposure contol circuit, as if the lighting was excellent. So the green LED will light up,and the aperture will be f:11. Then you must adjust the flash to he use of this value.
The only difficulty is to place the switch and the resistor under the cover.
