Hi all,
I recently purchased a Rheem Califone Tachistoscopic Projector to
project (in 2D, bummer) my VM reels.

Could someone tell me what this projector was actually used for?  I
have, of course, discovered that it does NOT advance my reels to show me
every other frame.  Obivously it used slightly different reels, most
likely designed for 2D.  It also has some levers which cause a portion
of the view to be covered.  

Now, it appears that some of these features are broken on this
projector.  However, I can half-advance my reel with the lever and
half-advance it with my thumb so we had a slide show anyway.  Still, I'd
like to know what this was actually used for.
